Doha: The sixth round of the 2024-2025 season QBF Basketball League witnessed two exciting confrontations yesterday evening at the Al Gharafa Hall, with Al Ahli and Al Shamal achieving important victories in their respective games that strengthened their position in the standings.
In the first game, Al Ahli presented a strong performance and were able to decide the game with a slim 81-79 victory against Qatar SC.
The four periods of the game (16-17, 18-23, 18-22, and 29-17) were in favour of Al Ahli.
Raequan Deshaun Rogers, an Al Ahli player, emerged as the best scorer in the match with 36 points, while Jordan Isiah Rowles was the best scorer for Qatar Club with 25 points.
The victory came after a balanced game that witnessed repeated exchanges to control the course of the clash, but Al Ahli succeeded in exploiting the decisive moments in their favour.
With this victory, Al Ahli raised their points tally to nine, and they are in fifth place, tied with Al Arabi, who are in fourth place, while Qatar SC are ranked sixth with eight points.
In the second game, Al Shamal and Al Khor met in a confrontation that was characterized by excitement until the last moments and ended with Al Shamal winning with a score of 69-68.
The results of the four periods of the game were (17-12, 12-13, 21-26, and 19-17) in favour of Al Shamal.
Billy Joel Hardy, Al Khor player, was distinguished as the best scorer in the game with 27 points, while Mackey Zion Juan Richard was the best scorer in Al Shamal Club with 26 points.
Despite the great pressure imposed by Al Khor, Al Shamal were able to maintain their superiority until the final whistle.
With this victory, Al Shamal raised their score to 10 points, the same as second-placed Al Sadd, while Al Khor remained in eighth place with seven points.
The excitement continues in the league, as two games will be held on Sunday at the QBF Indoor Hall, as Al Rayyan meet Al Wakra at 5:00 pm, and then another game brings together Al Arabi and Al Gharafa at seven in the evening.
