Popular Arab literary character Juha named FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 mascot

Doha: Juha, a homage to a legendary figure in Arab literature, has been revealed as the Official Mascot for the esteemed FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, with the final phase scheduled to take place from 1 to 18 December.

Often portrayed as a bumbling and slow-witted individual who finds himself in comical situations due to his quirky behavior, this iconic character represents the rich folkloric heritage of the region. Stories featuring Juha, which have gained immense popularity across generations in the Arab world, consistently conclude with a revelation of deep wisdom.

The cherished folk hero is now poised to come to life, participating in the celebrations for this year’s FIFA Arab Cup, which – similar to the previous edition – will once again bring together Arab fans for a distinctive celebration of the region’s vibrant culture and collective enthusiasm for football.

A total of 16 teams will have the opportunity to claim the prestigious trophy in the final phase. Nine teams have automatically qualified based on their standings in the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, while an additional 14 nations will compete for the remaining seven spots in a series of single-legged qualifying matches, scheduled for 25 and 26 November in Qatar.

Tickets for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 can be purchased at FIFA.com/tickets, with prices beginning at QAR 25. Supporters also have the option to buy a Follow My Team ticket, allowing them to attend all matches involving their selected team during the group stage. Throughout the tournament, fans will be treated to a range of entertainment and cultural activities.

The official opening event for the final phase will occur at Al Bayt Stadium on 1 December at 19:30 local time, featuring hosts Qatar against the winner of the qualifying match between Palestine and Libya. The final match will take place at 19:00 on 18 December at the iconic Lusail Stadium. Other former FIFA World Cup™ venues that will host matches during the tournament include Stadium 974, Ahmad Bin Ali, Education City, and Khalifa International stadiums.

The FIFA Arab Cup is part of an action-packed competition line-up in Qatar between now and the end of the year. The country is currently hosting the FIFA U-17 World Cup™, which concludes on 27 November, and will witness the culmination of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup™ next month in the shape of the FIFA Derby of the Americas on 10 December, the FIFA Challenger Cup three days later and the final on 17 December.
