Doha: Al Arabi will look to seal the title when they face Al Rayyan in Game Two of the QBF Men’s Basketball League Finals at Al Gharafa Hall on Thursday, with tip-off scheduled for 6:30pm.
The clash marks the second meeting in the best-of-three series of the 45th edition of the championship (2025–2026 season), with Al Arabi holding a 1-0 advantage after claiming a 79-71 victory in the opening game.
Al Arabi head into the contest with high confidence following a composed performance in Game One, where they combined defensive discipline with effective offensive execution to take control of the series. Victory on Thursday would see them clinch the title without the need for a third game, a scenario that will further motivate the side to maintain their intensity and avoid costly errors.

Al Rayyan, however, face a must-win situation to keep their title hopes alive. A defeat would end their campaign, while a win would level the series at 1-1 and force a decisive third game scheduled for Saturday, April 4, at 6:00pm. The team will rely on its experience in high-pressure encounters as it seeks to respond strongly and extend the contest.
Both teams progressed to the finals with identical 2-0 semifinal series victories. Al Arabi overcame Al Sadd with wins of 95-78 and 76-74, while Al Rayyan defeated Al Ahli 93-69 and 93-88.
This season also saw the Qatar Basketball Federation unveil a new design for the league championship shield, along with updated medals, marking the 45th edition of the competition since its inception in the 1981–1982 season.
Historically, Al Rayyan remain the most successful club in the league with 18 titles, followed by Al Arabi with 10, while Qatar SC have won seven championships. Al Sadd, Al Gharafa, Al Shamal and former side Al Jaish have each secured two titles, while Al Ahli lifted the trophy once during the 2000–2001 season.
