West Ham United delivered one of their most dominant performances of the season, thrashing Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 to kick off the Premier League weekend in emphatic fashion.
This wasn’t just a win — it was control, efficiency, and ruthlessness.
West Ham set the tone early and got their reward just before half-time. In the 42nd minute, Konstantinos Mavropanos rose from a corner delivered by Jarrod Bowen to power home the opener, giving the hosts a deserved 1-0 lead.
That goal cracked the game open — and the second half was all West Ham.
They came out sharper, more aggressive, and far more clinical. In the 66th minute, Valentín Castellanos doubled the lead after being set up, finishing with confidence to make it 2-0. Just two minutes later, he struck again in the 68th minute — another clinical finish — effectively killing the game before Wolves could react.
At 3-0, it became a procession.
Wolves had no response. Their shape collapsed, their threat disappeared, and West Ham took full advantage of the spaces opening up across the pitch.
Then came the final blow.
In the 83rd minute, Mavropanos grabbed his second of the night — again from a set-piece situation — to make it 4-0 and cap off a dominant display.
Bowen, in particular, was at the heart of everything, registering multiple assists and dictating key attacking moments throughout the game.
From there, it was complete control.
West Ham managed the final minutes with ease, while Wolves offered nothing in response — no fight, no cutting edge, no way back.
At full time, the 4-0 scoreline told the full story.
For West Ham, this is more than just three points — it’s a statement in a relegation battle. Clinical, composed, and ruthless when it mattered.
For Wolves, it’s a collapse.
Outplayed, outworked, and completely outclassed.
