In a thrilling Group B opener at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium, Qatar and Switzerland played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw on June 13, 2026. While Switzerland dominated large portions of the match, a heroic stoppage-time header from Boualem Khoukhi ensured the Asian champions walked away with a crucial point in their first-ever World Cup match reached through the qualification process.
Switzerland take early lead
