Doha: Hernan Crespo of Al Duhail has been named as the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League’s Best Coach for the month of January, 2023, according to STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the Qatar Stars League.

Under Crespo, Al Duhail played four matches (Weeks 8, 9, 11 and 12) and won all of them, netting a maximum 12 points. The Red Knights cruised to the top of QNB Stars League table with 29 points currently, displacing Al Arabi to the second place with 25 points.

It was a great comeback into the tournament by Al Duhail under the tutelage of former Argentinian international striker Crespo after the long break in the league.

Al Duhail beat Al Gharafa 3-0, Umm Salal 3-1, Al Shamal 2-0 and Al Wakrah 1-0 in that order during January.

During the period, Al Duhail scored nine goals and conceded only one.

Crespo, who was a player of great repute, took over the coaching reins of Al Duhail at the start of this season.

Moreover, Qatar SC’s Iraqi star Bashar Resan has been named as the QNB Stars League’s Best Player for the month of January, 2023.

Resan scored one goal and gave six assists in three matches. He spent a total of 272 minutes on the pitch, as per the technical analysis released by STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the QNB Stars League.

The ace Iraqi midfielder played a key role in January as Qatar SC are now placed fourth in the QNB Stars League table with 19 points from 11 matches. The Kings, under Moroccan Youssef Safri, have so far won six matches, drawn one and lost four games.

It may be noted that Rasan is one of the most prominent players in the Qatar SC ranks in particular and QNB Stars League in general. He has been presenting high technical capabilities and is an influential player in the side.

Meanwhile, Al Rayyan’s Osama Al Tairi has been adjudged the QNB Stars League’s Best Under-23 Player for the month of January, 2023, according to STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the QNB Stars League.

During the period, Al Tairi played four matches and scored two goals. He spent a total of 363 minutes on the pitch.

He played a key role in helping lift Al Rayyan from the last position to 10th in the QNB Stars League table with eight points currently from 12 matches. The Lions have two victories to their credit, while they drew two matches and lost eight games.

Al Tairi is also one of the players Al Rayyan’s Chilean coach Nicholas Cordova relies on due to his high technical capabilities.
