Arnautovic scores as Inter beat Red Star Belgrade

Marko Arnautovic spent last season on loan at Inter Milan and permanently joined the Italian giants from Bologna this summer.

Inter Milan cruised to their first Champions League win of the season with a fine victory over Red Star Belgrade.

Hakan Calhanoglu gave his side an 11th-minute lead with a fine curling free-kick that went in off the post.

Former Stoke and West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic doubled Inter’s lead in the 59th minute with a simple finish after Mehdi Taremi won the ball high up the pitch and played in the 35-year-old.

Taremi also pinched the ball in a dangerous area in the 71st minute and set up substitute Lautaro Martinez for the home side’s third.

Forward Taremi then got the goal he deserved late on by chipping in a penalty after Martinez was brought down in the penalty area.

Inter, who made seven changes from their Serie A win over Undinese, drew 0-0 with Manchester City in their Champions League opener last month.

Red Star Belgrade are still waiting for a league-phase win after losing 2-1 to Benfica in September.
