Bochum stun Bayern Munich with thrilling comeback on 125-year anniversary

In a stunning turn of events, Bochum came from two goals down to defeat 10-man Bayern Munich 3-2 in the Bundesliga, spoiling the hosts’ 125-year anniversary celebrations.

Raphael Guerreiro scored twice in the opening 28 minutes, but Bochum fought back with goals from Jakov Medic, Ibrahima Sissoko, and Matus Bero.

The turning point came when Joao Palhinha was sent off with a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Giorgos Masouras.

Bayern Munich’s defeat marked only their second loss in the Bundesliga under manager Vincent Kompany.

The result keeps Bayern eight points clear at the top, while Bochum remain two points from safety in 16th place.

The match was also notable for Jonas Urbig’s impressive debut in goal for Bayern, as he replaced the injured Manuel Neuer.

However, it was Bochum’s determination and resilience that ultimately secured a historic win, their first away victory at Bayern in 34 years.
