Britain’s Daniel Dubois is in negotiations to face Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title.
Dubois, the IBF champion, had been set to defend his title against Joseph Parker on 22 February but withdrew due to illness. Rather than rescheduling that bout, his focus has shifted to a potential showdown with Usyk, who holds the other major world heavyweight titles.
Dubois’ team is hopeful the fight will take place in the UK, with Usyk’s promoter, Alexander Krassyuk, telling Sky Sports that Wembley Stadium is “one of the options.”
The two fighters previously met in 2023, when Usyk stopped Dubois in Poland. Since then, Dubois has won three consecutive fights by stoppage, including victories over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic before securing his first world title against Anthony Joshua.
Usyk remains unbeaten in 23 bouts, with wins over Joshua (twice), Fury (twice), Dubois, and Derek Chisora. The Ukrainian has been undisputed champion at both cruiserweight and heavyweight. However, after his first victory over Fury last year, Usyk vacated the IBF heavyweight belt, leading to Dubois being elevated from interim to full champion before his fight with Joshua.
The last British heavyweight to hold undisputed status was Lennox Lewis in 1999. In the four-belt era, only three Britons—Savannah Marshall, Josh Taylor, and Chantelle Cameron—have achieved undisputed status.
