Arteta relieved over Saka’s injury update

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka’s ankle injury is “nothing serious” after the winger was forced off during their 4-0 win at Ipswich.

Saka was injured in the 32nd minute after a high challenge from Leif Davis, who was sent off.

Arteta said Saka was “sore” but the decision to substitute him was a precaution, especially with the Champions League semi-final against Paris St-Germain looming.

Arteta praised his team’s performance, describing the first 35 minutes as “one of the best 35 minutes we played this season.”

With the PSG match in mind, Arteta will decide whether to rest key players for Wednesday’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

The manager also highlighted the team’s adaptability and versatility, particularly with Leandro Trossard ready to start in different positions if needed.
