Saudi Arabia beat Bahrain 4-0 as U-17 Gulf Cup Qatar 2025 gets underway

Doha: The AGCFF U-17 Gulf Cup Qatar 2025 has commenced at Grand Hamad Stadium, where Iraq and Kuwait concluded their first match of the tournament in a 1-1 draw. In a separate match at Suheim bin Hamad Stadium, Saudi Arabia triumphed 4-0 over Bahrain.

This tournament is being held in Qatar from 20 September to 3 October, uniting young football talents from the region to vie for the prestigious trophy. This marks the inaugural occasion that the competition is conducted under the auspices of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF).

“This tournament highlights the exceptional quality of young players from the Arabian Gulf. Over the next two weeks, Qatar will serve as the host for future stars in the making. We encourage fans to engage in this thrilling competition and support the rising football talents from the region, while also celebrating our collective passion for the sport,” stated Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, Secretary General of AGCFF.

The host nation, Qatar, is set to commence their first match on September 21 at Grand Hamad Stadium, scheduled for 6 PM, where they will face Yemen. Concurrently, the UAE will compete against Oman at 8 PM at Suheim bin Hamad Stadium. Both locations are designed to be accessible, providing a barrier-free experience for fans with disabilities.

Tickets for the matches can be purchased online at tickets.qfa.qa, with prices starting at QAR 10. All tickets are issued in digital format.

The teams participating in the tournament consist of the eight member associations of the federation, which have been organized into two groups. Group A includes the host nation Qatar, along with the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Yemen. Group B comprises Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

The AGCFF U-17 Gulf Cup Qatar 2025 is aprecursor to a spectacular line-up of tournaments scheduled for this winter. Hosts Qatar, along with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, have qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™, that will take place from 3-27 November at the state-of-the-art Competition Complex at Aspire Zone. This will be followed by the second edition of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025™ from 1-18 December.
