Ademola Lookman made his first start of the season as Atalanta came from behind to beat Club Brugge in the Champions League.
The Nigeria international, who requested a transfer in August amid reported interest from Inter Milan, had been left out of Atalanta’s first three Serie A squads.
Restored to the XI, he looked lively early on, seeing one effort blocked.
Despite Atalanta’s dominance, Brugge struck first when Christos Tzolis curled home just before half-time.
The Italians pressed after the break, with Davide Zappacosta firing narrowly wide before their pressure told.
Mario Pašalić was fouled by Nordin Jackers in the area, allowing Lazar Samardžić to equalise from the penalty spot.
Pašalić then delivered the decisive moment three minutes from time, heading in the winner to cap Atalanta’s comeback.
The victory was Atalanta’s first in this season’s competition, while Brugge suffered their opening defeat after thrashing Monaco 4-1 in their opener.
