Arsenal hit four in 14 minutes to crush Atletico and extend perfect Champions League start

Arsenal struck four times in a ruthless 14-minute spell to dismantle Atletico Madrid and extend their flawless start to the Champions League group stage.

The Gunners began brightly, with Eberechi Eze’s deflected strike rattling the crossbar early on, while Atletico’s Julian Alvarez almost punished a stranded David Raya from long range.

A tense, scrappy first half gave way to a second-half surge, sparked by Gabriel Magalhaes’ header from Declan Rice’s pinpoint free-kick in the 57th minute.

That breakthrough opened the floodgates. Gabriel Martinelli doubled the lead with a curling finish after a driving run from Myles Lewis-Skelly, before Viktor Gyokeres ended his eight-match goal drought by bundling home Arsenal’s third.

The Swedish striker added another three minutes later, turning in Gabriel’s knockdown from a corner to cap a dominant display.

The emphatic 4-0 victory keeps Arsenal perfect after three games — with maximum points and no goals conceded.
