Doue shines as PSG crush Leverkusen 7-2 to extend perfect Champions League start

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain delivered a scintillating attacking performance to crush Bayer Leverkusen 7-2 and maintain their perfect Champions League record.

Desire Doue struck twice, while Willian Pacho, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nuno Mendes, Ousmane Dembele, and Vitinha were also on target as PSG made it three wins from three in the group stage.

Pacho opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a header from Mendes’ cross, before Leverkusen missed a chance to equalize when Alejandro Grimaldo’s penalty hit the post.

Moments later, Robert Andrich was sent off after VAR upgraded his yellow card to red for elbowing Doue.

PSG’s man advantage was short-lived as Illia Zabarnyi was dismissed for a foul on Christian Kofane, and Aleix Garcia converted the resulting spot-kick.

But the visitors responded with devastating pace — Doue fired in, Kvaratskhelia scored via both posts, and Doue added another to complete a quickfire double.

Vitinha then set up Mendes to make it 5-1 early in the second half, before Garcia’s stunning long-range strike briefly reduced the deficit.

Substitute Dembele marked his comeback from injury with PSG’s sixth, and Vitinha rounded off the scoring in the final minute.

Despite inconsistent domestic form, PSG remain flawless in Europe, showing no signs of slowing down in their title defence.
