Mbeumo brace fires Manchester United to third straight Premier League win

Manchester United’s resurgence under Ruben Amorim gathered pace on Saturday as goals from Matheus Cunha, Casemiro, and a Bryan Mbeumo double sealed a 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford — their third consecutive Premier League win.

Fresh from last weekend’s first triumph at Anfield since 2016, United carried that momentum into another confident display.

Cunha opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a superb low strike into the bottom corner — his first goal for the club — before Casemiro’s heavily deflected effort doubled the lead 10 minutes later.

Mbeumo made it 3-0 just past the hour mark with a composed finish, seemingly putting United out of sight.

But Brighton fought back, as former Red Danny Welbeck curled home a brilliant free kick before Charalampos Kostoulas headed in stoppage time to set up a tense finale.

With the visitors pushing for an equaliser, Mbeumo struck again in added time, rifling his second into the roof of the net to secure all three points and lift United to fourth in the table. Brighton remain 12th.

“I enjoy it a lot here,” Mbeumo told Sky Sports. “It wasn’t easy at first — new environment, new expectations — but the connection with the team is growing, and everything’s heading in the right direction. The togetherness we show is key. I came to a big club to fight for the top places.”
