London: Chelsea endured another frustrating night at Stamford Bridge as Nottingham Forest secured a deserved 3-1 victory, with key moments — including a missed penalty — ultimately defining the contest.
Forest made a fast start and took control early, with Taiwo Awoniyi opening the scoring with a composed finish that immediately put Chelsea on the back foot. The game took a worrying turn in the first half when a Chelsea player was forced off due to a head injury, adding to the disruption for the hosts. Shortly after, Forest doubled their advantage from the penalty spot, as Igor Jesus converted calmly to make it 2-0.
Chelsea were handed a lifeline before the break when they won a penalty of their own, but Cole Palmer failed to convert, a moment that would loom large over the outcome. Missing the chance to halve the deficit drained momentum from the hosts, who struggled to recover their rhythm.

In the second half, Forest remained dangerous and clinical, with Awoniyi grabbing his second of the night to extend the lead to 3-0 and effectively put the game beyond reach. Chelsea pushed late in search of a response and eventually found a moment of quality in stoppage time. Marc Cucurella provided the assist for João Pedro, who produced a stunning overhead kick finish in the 90+3rd minute, a spectacular goal that ended Chelsea’s recent scoring drought but came far too late to change the result.
The defeat leaves Chelsea with serious questions to answer, particularly in front of goal and in key moments. For Nottingham Forest, however, it marks a huge victory, one built on efficiency, composure, and the ability to capitalize when it mattered most.
