Team Qatar by Iron Lynx claims maiden ELMS podium with runner-up finish at Imola

Imola, Italy: Team Qatar by Iron Lynx delivered an outstanding performance to secure second place in the LMGT3 category at the 4 Hours of Imola on Sunday, earning its first podium finish of the 2026 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) season.

Competing in the third round of the championship at the iconic Italian circuit, Qatar’s Abdulla Al-Khelaifi teamed up with Julian Hanses and Maxime Martin to produce a composed and consistent drive aboard the No. 62 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3. The trio combined pace, reliability and excellent teamwork over the four-hour endurance race to finish as runners-up in a highly competitive LMGT3 field.

The result represents a significant milestone for Team Qatar by Iron Lynx, underlining the outfit’s steady progress and growing competitiveness in one of the world’s premier endurance racing championships.

The impressive podium finish also boosts the team’s position in the LMGT3 championship standings as it heads into the second half of the ELMS campaign with increased confidence and momentum, aiming to build on its breakthrough success in the remaining rounds of the season.
