London: Qatar’s Abderrahman Samba secured a podium finish at the London Diamond League on Saturday after placing third in the men’s 400m hurdles at the 11th meeting of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League season.
Samba crossed the finish line in 48.10 seconds, finishing behind Norway’s Karsten Warholm, who produced a world-leading time of 46.61 seconds to claim victory, while Germany’s Emil Agyekum took second place in 47.45 seconds.
The London event marked Samba’s second appearance on the Diamond League circuit this season, following his campaign opener in Xiamen, where he posted a season-best time of 47.93 seconds.
The third-place finish earned the Qatari star valuable Diamond League points, strengthening his bid for the prestigious Diamond Trophy with three meetings remaining on the calendar. The 2026 Diamond League season will continue with stops in Silesia, Zurich and Brussels in September before the series champion is crowned.
