Hull City proved once again why they are the surprise package of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign, battling to a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers stretched their unbeaten run to four matches in the top flight, showing immense composure to recover from an early deficit and claim a valuable point on away turf.
Chelsea couldn't have asked for a better start, opening the scoring after just seven minutes when the in-form Morgan Rogers continued his prolific week by slotting home past the keeper. However, Hull City refused to fold and hit back with devastating effect before halftime. Mohamed Belloumi turned the match upside down in the space of six minutes, equalizing in the 28th minute before finishing off a swift counter-attack in the 34th minute to hand the visitors a shock 2-1 lead heading into the break.
Xabi Alonso’s side threw everything forward in search of a response in the second half. The pressure eventually paid off in the 66th minute when João Pedro found space inside the box and hit a clinical finish into the bottom corner to bring the Blues level. Despite intense pressure from Chelsea in late stoppage time, Hull City’s backline stood resolute to preserve the 2-2 scoreline and keep their unbeaten top-flight streak intact.
