Chelsea Football Club officially announced that star midfielder Cole Palmer has put pen to paper on a major contract extension on improved terms, running through 2034. The landmark agreement updates his previous deal and places him alongside elite company, such as Manchester City's Erling Haaland, on one of the longest-running commitments in the Premier League.
Since making his move to Stamford Bridge, Palmer has established himself as one of world football's most electrifying attacking talents. Across 138 appearances in a blue shirt, he has amassed an extraordinary 91 goal contributions, helping guide the club to silverware including the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Conference League. Speaking on his decision to extend his stay, Palmer emphasized the collective hunger and winning mentality within the dressing room under manager Xabi Alonso.
"Speaking to players as well, everyone has the same ambitions. I feel like we win major trophies here consistently and I want to be a part of that and play a big role in it too," Palmer expressed following the announcement.
The timing of the announcement provides a massive boost to the squad as they prepare for domestic action. Having recovered from minor fitness niggles that kept him out of recent international duty, Palmer is expected to return straight to the starting fold, ready to build on his early-season form alongside new attacking partners.
