DOHA: Lusail International Circuit (LIC) has confirmed that the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2027 will take place from December 3 to 5, following the official announcement of the 2027 Formula 1 calendar.
The Qatar Grand Prix will form the 23rd round of the 24-race championship and will once again serve as the penultimate event of the Formula 1 season. The 2027 calendar will also feature the return of the Turkish and Portuguese Grand Prix after several years away.
Qatar has been a fixture on the Formula 1 calendar since making its debut in 2021, with LIC establishing itself as one of the world’s leading motorsport venues. The circuit is among a select group of venues to host Formula 1, MotoGP and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The 2027 Qatar Grand Prix will also feature the Sprint format, providing fans with an additional competitive race during the weekend. The Sprint, held on Saturday, covers approximately 100km and awards championship points, with its own podium ceremony ahead of Sunday’s main Grand Prix.

The 5.38km Lusail circuit features 16 turns and multiple overtaking opportunities, while its sophisticated lighting system allows the event to be staged under the lights, creating a distinctive setting for one of Formula 1’s most anticipated races.
With the Qatar Grand Prix positioned near the conclusion of the season, the event could carry significant championship importance, with valuable points available in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ standings as the title battles enter their final stages.
LIC is expected to attract fans from Qatar and around the world for a weekend combining Formula 1 racing, entertainment and hospitality.
Details regarding ticket sales for the 2027 edition will be announced at a later date.

Meanwhile, tickets for the 2026 Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix remain on sale.
