Qatar’s bronze medals in the team competitions came from the under-11 boys, under-13 girls, under-13 boys, under-15 boys and under-17 boys teams, in addition to the women’s team.

President of the Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) Hamad Ahmed Al Hammadi hailed the national teams’ performances, saying the medal haul reflected the steady development of the sport and the Federation’s efforts to nurture promising talent.

Al Hammadi said the achievement demonstrated Qatar’s growing ability to compete successfully at regional and continental levels.

“The competitions at the West Asian Championships were strong and exciting, witnessing the participation of elite players from the participating countries, which gave the tournament a high technical level,” Al Hammadi said.

He added that Qatar’s players responded to the strong competition with impressive performances, reaching the podium across several categories.

“We are proud of what our sons and daughters achieved in this championship, not only because of the number of medals we won, but also because of the high technical and competitive levels they demonstrated, their excellent spirit and their keenness to represent Qatar in the best possible way,” he said.

Al Hammadi noted that Qatar’s success across singles, doubles and team competitions, as well as different age groups, demonstrated the expanding base of table tennis talent in the country.

He stressed that the QTTA would continue providing players with high-quality technical and training support to develop a new generation capable of sustaining Qatar’s achievements in the sport.

Al Hammadi said the strong showing in Amman would also serve as motivation ahead of upcoming international commitments, with preparations now focusing on the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

“We will continue to work diligently because the competition in the Asian Games will be different and will require the highest levels of readiness and focus. Our goal is to deliver honourable performances and compete strongly to achieve the best possible results in the name of the State of Qatar,” he said.

He also thanked the players, coaches, administrative staff and all those who contributed to the success, stressing that continued teamwork would be vital to strengthening Qatar’s presence on the Asian and international table tennis stage.
