beIN Sports to broadcast more than 88 hrs of live tennis action from Qatar’s ATP and WTA tournaments

Doha: beIN SPORTS (beIN) will broadcast more than 88 hours of live action this month across the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) from the upcoming WTA 500 Qatar TotalEnergies Open and ATP 250 Qatar ExxonMobil Open taking place at Doha’s Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex from February 13 to 18 and February 20 to 25 respectively.

The two high-profile tournaments will be broadcast up to eight-and-a-half hours per day in Arabic on beIN SPORTS 5 and in English on beIN SPORTS ENGLISH 3, with fans also able to enjoy a range of support shows accompanying the live coverage. A daily 26-minute highlights episode will be broadcast in Arabic, as will daily mini matches and a trio of five-minute fillers.

Coverage of the WTA 500 Qatar TotalEnergies Open will start one day prior to the start of the tournament with an hour-long preview show on February 12 from 18.00 MECCA. Daily on-court coverage gets underway from 15.00 MECCA on February 13 and runs until the final five days later, when a four-and-a-half hour special starts at 14.30 MECCA.

The ATP 250 Qatar ExxonMobil Open will meanwhile be headed by World No.5 Andrey Rublev and Canada’s rising star Felix Auger-Aliassime, ranked No.7 in the world. They will be joined by Alexander Zverev, the 2020 US Open finalist, former World No.1 and 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev, among many others. Similar to the women’s tournament, a preview show on February 19 will run at 18.30 MECCA, with daily coverage continuing throughout until the final on February 25 with three-and-a-half hours of coverage starting from 17.30 MECCA.

As the official broadcaster, beIN’s flagship beIN SPORTS ENGLISH 3 channel will air a world feed with commentary in English, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all matches from both tournaments.

beIN has lined up a roster of tennis experts to provide detailed analysis during both tournaments. beIN’s presenter and resident tennis expert Areej Sleem will be joined in the studio daily by a panel of former professionals, including Morocco’s Anass Lamrani and Karim Alami, the latter a national champion and former World No.25, as well as Kuwaiti Adel Al-Shatti and Selima Sfar, Tunisia’s second-highest ranked female.

The WTA 500 Qatar TotalEnergies Open boasts an impressive field consisting of six of the world’s top 10, including World No.1 Iga Swiatek, who returns as defending champion following her victory in 2022, and both Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff, the American pair ranked World No.4 and No.6 who won the doubles tournament in Doha last year.
