QTSB to promote International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha

Doha: The Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF) has announced a partnership agreement to promote the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha, which will be hosted by Qatar from October 2, 2023 to March 28, 2024.

The agreement was signed on Monday by QTSBF Secretary General Tariq Zainal and Secretary General of Expo 2023 Doha Engineer Mohammed Ali Al Khouri.

Under the agreement, the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2023 will be the first to promote this world exhibition to be held for the first time in the Gulf region and the Middle East.

In a speech during the press conference, the QTSBF Secretary General said they aspire through this partnership to support the expo’s goals regarding raising awareness among society and individuals, preserving the environment, combating desertification and reducing carbon emissions, in addition to enhancing international cooperation on the issue of climate change.

He added that they are pleased that the Qatar ExxonMobil Open tournament, which attracts the game’s most prominent stars in the world and enjoys distinguished local and international media coverage, is a platform to promote this exhibition that is held in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 with regard to achieving sustainable development. He appreciated the efforts by the expo’s organizers to present a distinctive global version that reflects the country’s leadership in hosting major international events.

To be held under the under the theme “Green Desert, Better Environment,” the Expo 2023 Doha aims to encourage sustainable innovations and reduce desertification.

For his part, Al Khouri expressed his happiness at the partnership with the QTSBF in promoting this international exhibition to be hosted by Qatar.

Al Khouri said that the exhibition will last for six months in which about 60 countries have so far announced their participation, adding it will discuss many issues, including developing the necessary solutions to increase the agricultural area in desert lands.
