Football fans voice disappointment over Endrick on social media

Real Madrid’s newest acquisition, Endrick, has failed to impress during the round of pre-season friendly games Real Madrid has been taking part in in the US. This isn’t the first time the 18-year-old Brazilian, who arrived at Real Madrid this year from his native country’s Palmeiras, has been subject to harsh criticism.

During the last Copa America, which concluded last month with Argentina bagging their 16th title, Endrick faced harsh criticism on social media following Brazil’s exit from the tournament to Uruguay.

Football fans were equally disappointed by Endrick’s showing last night, after a lackluster performance in the El Clasico game played against Barcelona at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.A video posted by X user @the_berneese_ amassed 2.1 million views and 1.4 thousand reposts. The 56-second video shows a montage of Endrick’s blunders during El Clasico, with the caption sarcastically reading “Endrick vs. Barcelona. The new Pele???” while other X users dubbed Endrick the “Pele from Alibaba.”

According to Sofascore, the Brazilian forward played 67 minutes, scored no goal or assist, and didn’t shoot on target once. His overall score was 6.7, the same score he received during the previous club friendly against Milan.

The Brazilian did have one shot that followed a brilliant Modric pass, but it was just off target.

Endrick’s substitute, Nico Paz, ended up bagging a goal and a 7.5 rating on Sofascore.

Despite the Sofascore rating, the young Brazilian has shown glimpses of potential, and Real Madrid fans trust their latest signing will come good once the season kicks in.
