Paulo Dybala rejects Qadsiah bid, to stay at Roma

Paulo Dybala. Files.

In yet another shocking twist, Paulo Dybala has decided to remain with AS Roma after seemingly being mere hours away from a transfer to Saudi outfit Al Qadsiah.

The Argentine forward’s change of heart came after a day of intense deliberation influenced by Roma fans and teammates, as well as his family.

Initially, and as suddenly as his decision to stay, the Argentine world champion was set to depart for Saudi Arabia, after having Dybala rejected Al Qadsiah’s first offer earlier this month, citing doubts about the move.

Despite a subsequent offer and preparation for a potential departure, including a private flight arranged for him, Dybala’s decision shifted after Roma declined Al Qadsiah’s €3 million bid.

On the afternoon of his expected departure, Dybala opted to stay, announcing his decision via Instagram. The move has delighted Roma supporters, who had expressed their affection for the star player.

The fans congregated outside Dybala’s house in Rome, thanking him and showing him appreciation.

Dybala’s fate seemed to have been sealed after sitting on the bench last Sunday in Roma’s 0-0 draw to Cagliari at Sardegna. Dybala came into the game with 21 minutes to go, producing a stunning display and almost assisting what would have been newcomer Dovbyk’s first goal.

Romapress, an AS Roma news portal, reported that Dybala is now set to start the second Serie A game against Empoli, which will be played on Roma’s sold-out home turf the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
