The team mounted a strong campaign in the regional qualifiers, recording three consecutive victories by overcoming Saudi Arabia 80–76, defeating Kuwait 81–53, and sealing qualification with an 80–67 win over Oman. Accumulating seven points across the tournament, Qatar finished as runners-up behind gold-medalists Bahrain, who topped the standings with a perfect eight-point record following a 77–45 victory over Qatar in the final match. Despite the setback in the final, Qatar’s overall campaign underscored significant progress in the country’s basketball talent development pipeline.
