Doha: The 12th edition of the Qatar Basketball Cup commenced on Saturday, featuring thrilling victories for both Al Ahli and Al Gharafa.
Al Ahli secured a narrow win against Al Khor, finishing the game at 68-66 in a commendable display from their opponents during the preliminary rounds. Meanwhile, Al Gharafa triumphed over Qatar SC with a decisive score of 98-72, with both games taking place at the Al-Gharafa Club Hall.
Al Gharafa advanced directly to the semi-finals, while Al Ahli will face Al Shamal in a crucial preliminary round match, following a draw that exempted Al Shamal from this round.
The two teams are set to meet on Wednesday at 5:00 PM, with the winner earning the opportunity to compete against Al Gharafa in the semi-finals scheduled for next Saturday at 5:00 PM at Al Gharafa Hall.
