Abdulaziz Al Kuwari wins FIA Middle East Rally Championship winner for first time

Nicosia: Qatari driver Abdulaziz Al Kuwari has been crowned with the title of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship 2024, after topping the overall standings for drivers by finishing second behind his compatriot Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah in the Cyprus International Rally, which was the third and final round of the Middle East championship.

After being crowned with the first title in the Middle East championship, Al Kuwari elevated his score to 74 points at the top of the overall drivers’ standings, with a 4-point lead over his closest competitor, his fellow Al Attiyah, who came in second place with 70 points.

Meanwhile, the Jordanian driver Shaker Jweihan came in third with 37 points, despite withdrawing from the Cyprus Rally.

Al Kuwari became the fifth Qatari driver to win the Middle East rally championship title, following Saeed Al Hajari, Sheikh Hamad bin Eid Al-Thani, Musfer Al Muharrqi, and Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah.

In the international Cyprus Rally, Qatari driver Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah was crowned the champion of the 51st edition, which was the third round of the Middle East championship this season, achieving his ninth title in the Cyprus Rally.
