Al Arabi claim away victory over Al Manama of Bahrain in WASL 

Doha: Al Arabi claimed an important away victory over Al Manama of Bahrain in the second round game of Group B of the 2024/2025 FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) for the Arabian Gulf region held at the Zain Basketball Hall in Umm Al Hassam, Manama, yesterday.

The Qatari team won 85-84, with the four periods result being (15-26, 20-15, 25-23, and 25-19).

In the same group, Al Qadisiyah of Kuwait defeated Al Ittihad of Jeddah of Saudi Arabia with a score of (91-83).

Al Qadisiyah of Kuwait leads the group standings with 4 points, followed by Al-Arabi and Al Ittihad of Jeddah of Saudi Arabia with 3 points each, then Al-Manama of Bahrain with 2 points in fourth place.

According to the tournament system, the winner of each of the two groups in the Gulf region qualifies directly to the semi-finals, while the second and third place teams from each group must play three play-off matches, with the winner of two out of three matches qualifying for the semi-finals.

Three qualified teams from the Gulf region will compete in the Final 8, with three teams from the West Asia region and two teams from South and Central Asia, thus completing the list of eight competitors for the title.
