Defending champion Iga Swiatek secured her spot in the Indian Wells quarter-finals with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 victory over Karolina Muchova.
The Polish star is aiming to become the first woman to claim three Indian Wells titles, having previously won in 2022.
Although rain delayed the match by nearly an hour, Swiatek needed just 57 minutes to seal the win, not facing a single break point.
Ranked world number two, she has dropped only six games en route to the last eight, where she will face either China’s eighth seed Zheng Qinwen or Ukraine’s 18th seed Marta Kostyuk.
At 23, the five-time Grand Slam champion is the first woman to reach the Indian Wells quarter-finals four years in a row since Karolina Pliskova, who did so from 2016 to 2019.
