Barca fight back from two goals down to beat Atletico

Barcelona produced a stunning comeback to defeat Atletico Madrid 4-2 in a thrilling La Liga encounter, moving top of the table in the process.

Trailing 2-0 with 20 minutes remaining, Barcelona scored four goals in the final stages, including two in stoppage time, to claim a dramatic victory.

Julian Alvarez had given Atletico the lead on the stroke of half-time, and Alexander Sorloth added a second in the 70th minute.

However, Robert Lewandowski’s fine strike and Ferran Torres’ header drew Barcelona level.

Sorloth missed a chance to win it for Atletico late on, and Barcelona capitalized on the reprieve.

Lamine Yamal’s curling deflected strike in the second minute of added time put them ahead, before Torres sealed the win with a low finish just before the final whistle.

The victory moves Barcelona top of La Liga, level on 60 points with Real Madrid but with a crucial game in hand. Atletico remain third, four points behind the top two.
