Golfer Tiger Woods has announced he is in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, the former daughter-in-law of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Vanessa, 47, was married to Donald Trump Jr. for 13 years, and the pair—who share five children—divorced in 2018.
On Sunday, Woods, 49, shared photos of himself and Vanessa on social media, captioning them: “Love is in the air, and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together.” He also requested privacy for those closest to them.
While it is unclear why Woods chose to make the relationship public, speculation had been growing in recent weeks after reports surfaced in gossip magazines.
Woods, a 15-time major champion, has been known to guard his personal life, particularly after past scandals involving marital infidelity affected both his public image and professional career in the 2000s.
Following the exposure of his affairs, Woods sought treatment for sex addiction and went through a highly publicized divorce from his first wife, Elin Nordegren, after six years of marriage. They share two children.
U.S. media outlets have noted that Woods’ children attend the same school as Vanessa Trump’s.
As the former wife of Donald Trump’s eldest son, Vanessa was a frequent attendee at official events involving the Trump family during his presidency.
Woods, a former world number one, has also played golf with Trump on multiple occasions, including as recently as last month. Trump, a longtime golf enthusiast, owns more than a dozen courses.
In February, Woods met with Trump and Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) officials at the White House to discuss the future of golf, particularly the ongoing division between the PGA and the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league. He attended the meeting wearing the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which Trump awarded him in 2019.
Earlier this month, Woods revealed that he is dealing with an Achilles tendon injury that has kept him sidelined from professional competition.
He has not yet provided a timeline for his return. His absence from the PGA Tour this season follows the passing of his mother, Kultida, in February.
Both Woods and Vanessa Trump have children involved in junior golf.
Vanessa’s daughter, Kai Trump, 17, has committed to playing collegiate golf at the University of Miami in 2026. She and Charlie Woods, Tiger’s son, recently competed in a junior invite-only tournament in South Carolina.
Woods has previously been in relationships with Olympic ski champion Lindsey Vonn and Erica Herman, his former restaurant manager.
His relationship with Herman ended in controversy in 2023 when she filed lawsuits against Woods and his trust, though she later withdrew the claims.
