Uefa launches investigation into Real Madrid players’ alleged indecent conduct

Uefa has initiated an investigation into allegations of indecent conduct by four Real Madrid players during their Champions League last-16 win against Atletico Madrid.

The players in question – Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, and Dani Ceballos – allegedly made provocative gestures towards the home fans after Real Madrid’s penalty shootout victory.

TV footage appears to show Rudiger making a throat-slitting motion and Mbappe making a crotch-grabbing gesture, sparking outrage among Atletico fans. Spanish media reports that Atletico Madrid formally reported the incidents to Uefa last week.

The four players risk suspension, but it remains uncertain whether the case will be resolved before Real Madrid’s quarter-final clash with Arsenal, scheduled for April 8 and 15.

In a statement, Uefa confirmed the appointment of an ethics and disciplinary inspector to investigate the allegations, promising to provide further updates in due course.
