Doha: The Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel 2025 concluded at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Saturday, showcasing the supremacy of the world’s leading men’s pair while the top-seeded women’s team faced defeat in the final.

The top-ranked men’s duo, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, successfully defended their title with an impressive performance when it was most crucial. In a thrilling match before a full audience, the Spanish-Argentine pair triumphed over the second-seeded team of Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galan, winning decisively with a score of 7–6(4), 6–2.

This victory also represented a significant comeback for Coello and Tapia, following their early eliminations in Miami and Santiago earlier in the Premier Padel Tour season.

On the women’s side, the second-seeded pair of Gemma Triay from Spain and Delfina Brea from Argentina claimed the title by defeating the top-seeded duo of Ariana Sanchez Fallada and Paula Josemaria Martin. The defending champions struggled to keep pace with Triay and Brea, ultimately losing in straight sets, 6–4, 6–4, on the main court.

This match marked the fourth final of the year between these two women’s teams, with Brea and Triay now leading their head-to-head encounters after previous victories in Premier Padel tournaments held in Gijon and Miami.

During the awards ceremony, champions were crowned by Nasser bin Ghanem Al Khelaifi, President of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation, along with Tariq Zainal, Secretary General of the Federation and President of the Asian Padel Federation, and Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation. The event was also attended by Ooredoo CEO Sheikh Ali bin Jabor Al Thani.

The tournament, which spanned nine days, featured 48 men’s teams and 40 women’s teams, highlighting its significance as one of the premier events in the global padel calendar.

The Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel is one of only four major tournaments of Premier Padel, recognised as the official tour of the International governing body of the sport and part of the 25-event calendar held across 18 countries annually.
