World number one Aryna Sabalenka secured a spot in her fourth Stuttgart Open final with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Jasmine Paolini.
Despite nearly squandering a 5-2 lead in the first set, Sabalenka held her nerve to take the set and then fought back from 3-0 down in the second set.
Sabalenka will face Jelena Ostapenko in the final on Monday, having won all three of their previous meetings.
Ostapenko, who upset world number two Iga Swiatek in the quarter-final, comfortably defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-4, 6-4 in her semi-final match.
Meanwhile, Elina Svitolina claimed her first title in nearly two years with a 6-4, 7-6 (10-8) win over Olga Danilovic in the final of the Rouen event.
The Ukrainian, who returned to competition after maternity leave, expressed confidence in her game, saying, “When I play well, it’s difficult to beat me.”
