Djokovic withdraws from Italian Open

Record 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic will not compete in the upcoming Italian Open in Rome, scheduled for May 7–18, tournament organisers confirmed on Tuesday.

“Novak Djokovic has announced he won’t take part in #IBI25. See you next year, Nole,” read a post on the tournament’s official social media channels.

The 37-year-old Serbian star was recently knocked out of the Madrid Open following a surprise loss to Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi. Djokovic has not announced the reason for his withdrawal.
