Ronaldo’s son gets first Portugal Under-15s call-up

Cristiano Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., has received his first call-up to the Portugal Under-15 national team.

The 14-year-old currently lives in Saudi Arabia, where he plays for Al-Nassr’s youth team alongside his father, who joined the club in December 2022. Proud of his son’s milestone, the 40-year-old Portugal legend shared a photo of the squad list on social media with the caption, “Proud of you, son.”

Ronaldo Jr. will represent Portugal in an upcoming youth tournament in Croatia from May 13 to 18, where the team is set to face Japan, Greece, and England.

Cristiano Ronaldo Sr., a five-time Ballon d’Or winner and all-time leading scorer in men’s international football with 136 goals, remains active for the Portugal national team. He famously captained Portugal to their first major triumph at Euro 2016 and later led them to victory in the 2019 Nations League. In March, he scored in a dramatic win over Denmark, helping Portugal advance to the Nations League semi-finals despite missing a penalty.

In addition to Cristiano Jr., Ronaldo has four other children: 7-year-old twins Eva and Mateo, Alana Martina, also 7, and 3-year-old Bella.

Ronaldo Jr.’s journey so far

Ronaldo Jr.’s football development has followed his father’s high-profile career, with spells in the youth academies of Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, and now Al-Nassr. Reports suggest he scored 58 goals in a single season while with Juventus.

During his time at Manchester United, he played alongside Kai Rooney, son of Wayne Rooney, and has gained viral attention for replicating his father’s famous ‘Siu’ celebration during matches.

While he is now representing Portugal at youth level, Ronaldo Jr. is also eligible to play for the United States, his country of birth, and Spain, where he lived during his father’s time at Real Madrid.
