Muller bows out as Bayern end eason in style with 4-0 win over Hoffenheim

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich wrapped up their season in commanding fashion, cruising to a 4-0 away victory over Hoffenheim as club legend Thomas Müller made his final appearance.

The 35-year-old, who has spent his entire senior career in Bavaria, leaves Bayern after amassing 13 Bundesliga titles and two Champions League trophies.

In his 503rd Bundesliga appearance—moving him to 12th on the league’s all-time list—Müller couldn’t find the net before making way for Harry Kane on the hour mark.

Michael Olise opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with a sublime curling free-kick that beat the wall and snuck inside the near post.

Hoffenheim’s Andrej Kramarić, who has scored more Bundesliga goals against Bayern than any current player, spurned a golden opportunity early in the second half, failing to beat Manuel Neuer one-on-one.

Moments later, Bayern doubled their lead as Joshua Kimmich’s effort from close range took a deflection and wrong-footed Oliver Baumann.

Serge Gnabry made it 3-0 with a low strike from the edge of the area before Kane capped off the performance with his 26th league goal of the season.

Eric Dier also featured in what is expected to be his final outing for Bayern, with the England defender set to join Monaco on a free transfer this summer.

Leroy Sané made a brief appearance off the bench amid uncertainty surrounding his future at the club.

Bayern finish the campaign 13 points clear at the top of the table, while Hoffenheim avoid the relegation play-off thanks to Heidenheim’s loss to Werder Bremen.
