Manchester United have activated Matheus Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause and received permission from Wolves to open talks with the Brazilian forward.
Wolves had initially rejected United’s proposal to spread the payment over five years, but the Old Trafford club has now agreed to pay the full fee in three instalments across two years.
With the financial terms settled, United are now clear to proceed with finalising personal terms and arranging a medical. The transfer is expected to be completed swiftly.
Cunha, 26, has made 92 appearances for Wolves since joining from Atletico Madrid—first on loan in January 2023—scoring 33 goals during his time at Molineux.
