Paris Saint-Germain captured their first-ever Champions League crown in emphatic fashion, dismantling Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich’s Allianz Arena on Saturday — the most one-sided final in the competition’s history.
Teen sensation Désiré Doué was the star of the night, scoring twice and assisting the opener for Achraf Hakimi as PSG ran riot.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added a fourth before 19-year-old substitute Senny Mayulu capped off the scoring in a dazzling display.
The breakthrough came in the 12th minute when Doué slid a perfectly weighted pass to Hakimi, who calmly sidefooted home.
Just eight minutes later, Doué doubled the lead with a deflected effort following a rapid counter-attack that began improbably with defender Willian Pacho keeping the ball alive at the back.
PSG’s third was a product of brilliant link-up play, as Vitinha’s driving run and neat exchange with Ousmane Dembélé opened the door for Doué to fire in his second of the night.
With Inter reeling, Kvaratskhelia delivered the knockout blow with a composed low finish, and Mayulu polished off a sweeping team move late on to complete the rout.
Qatari-owned PSG become only the second French club to lift Europe’s most prestigious trophy, following Marseille’s triumph in 1993.
