Manchester City have reached an agreement with AC Milan to sign Netherlands international Tijjani Reijnders in a deal worth €55 million (£46.3 million).
The 26-year-old midfielder has agreed personal terms and will sign a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, with the move now subject to a medical. The deal also includes performance-related add-ons.
City are aiming to finalise the transfer in time for Reijnders to be available for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which begins on 14 June in the United States.
Reijnders’ arrival comes as a timely boost to City’s midfield, with Mateo Kovacic ruled out of the tournament following Achilles surgery. Kevin De Bruyne is also not expected to feature, amid growing speculation that he is set to join Serie A champions Napoli.
Reijnders, who joined AC Milan from AZ Alkmaar in 2023, made a strong impression in his debut Serie A campaign, and City believe he brings the versatility and energy needed to reinforce their midfield depth.
