Unbeaten British heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma will face his toughest challenge yet when he takes on fellow Briton Dillian Whyte in Saudi Arabia on 16 August.
The 20-year-old rising star has quickly built an impressive résumé, stopping 10 of his 12 opponents since turning professional.
The bout marks a significant step up for the Kent-based fighter as he squares off against 37-year-old Whyte — a former world-title challenger with a wealth of experience at the top level.
The event in Riyadh will also feature several high-profile contests. In the co-main event, Liverpool’s WBA featherweight champion Nick Ball, 28, defends his title against Australia’s Sam Goodman.
Former super-featherweight world champion Anthony Cacace, 36, will face American Raymond Ford, while British heavyweight David Adeleye, 28, is set to meet Croatia’s Filip Hrgovic.
Itauma Set for Career-Defining Test
Born in Slovakia and raised in Chatham, Kent from the age of three, Itauma was sparring former world champion Lawrence Okolie by 16, catching the eye of promoter Frank Warren.
With his powerful southpaw stance and sharp movement, Itauma has been touted as a potential record-breaker, once tipped to surpass Mike Tyson’s record as the youngest heavyweight champion at 20 years and four months.
In May, Itauma made quick work of Mike Balogun, stopping him in two rounds. But now he faces, on paper, the most dangerous opponent of his young career.
Whyte, with 31 wins from 34 bouts, has shared the ring with top names such as Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
However, his momentum has stalled in recent years. A planned 2023 rematch with Joshua was cancelled following a failed drug test, though Whyte has maintained his innocence and was later cleared.
He returned to the ring in March 2024 with stoppage victories over Christian Hammer and Ebenezer Tetteh, though critics say he has yet to recapture his best form.
