Myles Lewis-Skelly agrees new contract with Arsenal after breakthrough season

England international Myles Lewis-Skelly has agreed terms on a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

The 18-year-old left-back, whose current deal runs until 2026, has been in discussions with the club in recent months and is now set to extend his stay after reaching an agreement in principle.

The new contract will be finalised and signed in the coming weeks.

The deal comes as a reward for a standout season in which Lewis-Skelly made 39 appearances across all competitions.

Originally developed as a midfielder in Arsenal’s academy, he was predominantly deployed at left-back throughout the campaign.

Lewis-Skelly made his senior debut in September against Manchester City and quickly earned plaudits for his composure, versatility, and tactical awareness.

His form earned him a senior England call-up in March. He marked his debut in style, scoring in a 2-0 win over Albania at Wembley and becoming the youngest player ever to score on their full debut for the Three Lions.

He had previously represented England at every level from U16 to U19.

Earlier this week, he was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, joining a shortlist that includes Morgan Rogers, Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and fellow Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri.
