England captain Harry Kane extended his remarkable scoring streak with a brace as Bayern Munich thrashed Pafos in the Champions League.
The 32-year-old forward has now netted 102 goals in just 105 appearances since joining Bayern from Tottenham for £86.4m in August 2023.
Kane has already struck 17 times in nine club matches this season — including 11 in his last five outings — and also scored for England in their 5-0 win over Serbia earlier this month.
Making their group-stage home debut, Cypriot side Pafos were quickly overwhelmed. Kane opened the scoring after 15 minutes with a crisp first-time finish from Michael Olise’s pass, before Raphael Guerreiro doubled the lead five minutes later.
Nicolas Jackson then marked his first Bayern goal since arriving on loan from Chelsea, again assisted by Olise.
Kane struck again in the 34th minute with a clinical left-footed effort from close range, though Mislav Orsic briefly lifted the hosts with a fine 20-yard curler before half-time.
Any hopes of a comeback were ended midway through the second half when Olise capped a superb display by rifling into the roof of the net from a tight angle.
Bayern nearly added a sixth in stoppage time, but both Serge Gnabry and Jackson hit the post.
The result maintains Bayern’s perfect start to the season — nine wins from nine in all competitions, with 35 goals scored and two wins from two in Europe.
