Arsenal explore Emirates stadium expansion as club eyes larger capacity

Arsenal have held preliminary internal talks about expanding the capacity of the Emirates Stadium.

The discussions are still in the early stages, with no definitive plan yet agreed, though the possibility of playing home matches at Wembley Stadium during any potential renovation has been raised.

Next year will mark 20 years since the Gunners moved from Highbury to the Emirates.

Sources indicate the talks have considered reconfiguring the seating layout to add thousands of additional seats, as Arsenal aim to keep pace with the largest stadiums in England.

Currently, the Emirates holds 60,704 spectators, making it the fifth-largest football stadium in the country.

Old Trafford leads the list with 74,879, followed by Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (62,850), London Stadium (62,500), and Anfield (61,276).
