Kylian Mbappé delivered a sensational four-goal performance to drag an injury-hit Real Madrid to victory in a chaotic Champions League encounter against Olympiacos.
The hosts stunned Madrid early when Francisco Chiquinho fired a crisp 20-yard strike into the bottom corner.
But Mbappé responded with breathtaking ruthlessness, scoring a hat-trick in just seven minutes — the second-fastest in Champions League history.
His first came from a composed finish after racing on to Vinícius Júnior’s perfectly weighted through-ball.
Moments later he rose to head in Arda Güler’s cross, before completing his treble by beating the offside trap and slotting home from Eduardo Camavinga’s pass.
Madrid continued to dominate, with Aurélien Tchouaméni rattling the bar, while a Vinícius goal was chalked off due to Mbappé straying offside in the build-up.
Olympiacos, however, refused to fold. Substitute Mehdi Taremi powered in a header to reduce the deficit, only for Mbappé to grab his fourth — a close-range finish from Vinícius’ cut-back.
Ayoub El Kaabi’s late header set up a tense finish, but Madrid held on to seal their first win in Athens at the 10th attempt and end a three-game winless run.
Real move to fifth in the league phase standings, three points behind leaders Arsenal, while Olympiacos sit 33rd with two points.
