Nasser Al-Attiyah claims historic victory at 2026 Oman Rally

Muscat: Qatari rally legend Nasser Al-Attiyah once again proved his dominance by conquering the 2026 Oman Rally, securing a remarkable 9th victory at the iconic event. This latest triumph also marks his 92nd career win in the Middle East Rally Championship (MERC), further extending his record as the most successful driver in the region’s rally history.

Al-Attiyah delivered a commanding performance throughout the rally to take top honors ahead of Omani star Abdullah Al Rawahi, who delighted home fans with an impressive second-place finish. Completing the podium was Nasser Khalifa Al-Attiyah, who not only secured third overall but also claimed victory in the Masters Cup category.

The rally also saw moments of disappointment for the QMMF team, as drivers Mohammed Al Marri and Rashed Al Mohannadi were forced to retire due to mechanical issues, despite both leading their respective categories at the time of their withdrawal.

With Oman now complete, attention turns to the next round of the 2026 Middle East Rally Championship, the Qatar International Rally, scheduled to take place from 5–7 February 2026. The event promises another thrilling chapter in the championship battle as the region’s top drivers head to Doha for round two of the season.
