Al Gharafa Club crowned U-19 and U-14 3×3 basketball competitions Champions

 Doha: The curtain fell on Monday on the 3×3 basketball youth competitions for the 2025–2026 sports season, following a season filled with intense matchups and remarkable results that highlighted the progress of the game at the youth level and the clubs’ ability to nurture young talent.

In the U-19 category, Al Gharafa Club claimed the championship title after an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, securing the gold medals and a financial prize of QR70,000. Qatar Club finished second, earning silver medals and a prize of QR50,000, while Al Arabi Club came in third, taking home bronze medals and a prize of QR30,000.

In the U-14 category, Al Gharafa also secured first place, winning gold medals and a prize of QR40,000. Al Rayyan Club finished second with silver medals and a prize of QR20,000, while Al Sadd Club claimed third place with bronze medals and a prize of QR10,000, reflecting the strong competition among teams in this age group.

Meanwhile, in the U-16 category, Al Arabi Club was crowned champion of the general league after a distinguished season of both individual and team performances, earning gold medals and a prize of QR 50,000. Al Rayyan Club finished second with silver medals and a prize of QR35,000, while Al Sadd Club secured third place with bronze medals and a prize of QR25,000.

The awarding ceremony was overseen by Mishal Abdullah Yousef Al-Malki, Board Member of the Qatar Basketball Federation, who presented the trophies and medals to the winners across all age categories.

Al-Malki stated: “We are proud of the technical level demonstrated by the youth teams during this season. The championship showcased the promising skills and abilities of young players. These competitions serve as an important platform for discovering talent and refining their skills before progressing to higher levels. At the Federation, we are committed to supporting all efforts aimed at developing basketball in Qatar in the long term. Winning here is not just about titles—it is a sign of the bright future of the sport.”

He added: “This season’s championship witnessed fierce competition among the participating teams, with closely matched technical levels in most games, which added excitement and thrill for fans and followers of youth basketball.”
