Doha: The Qatar Men’s Basketball Cup for the 2025–2026 season will tip off on April 8 with a series of high-stakes quarterfinal clashes, as teams battle for a place in the last four in a knockout format that promises intense competition through to the final.
Organised by the Qatar Basketball Federation, the tournament will run until April 16, with all roads leading to the final at Al Gharafa Hall.
The opening day will see two matches at Al Rayyan Club Hall. Al Sadd take on Al Ahli at 7pm in what is expected to be a closely contested encounter, before Al Rayyan face Al Khor at 9pm in another evenly matched clash.
Action continues on April 9 at Al Gharafa Hall, where Al Wakrah meet Qatar Club at 6pm, followed by a tie between Al Gharafa and Al Shamal at 8pm.
Al Arabi have been handed a direct route to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the Al Sadd-Al Ahli clash on April 11 at 6pm at Al Gharafa Hall.
The remaining semifinal fixtures are scheduled for April 13 at the same venue. The winner of Al Wakrah versus Qatar Club will meet the victor of Al Gharafa against Al Shamal, while the other semifinal will see the winner of Al Rayyan versus Al Khor take on either Al Arabi or the winner of Al Sadd and Al Ahli.
The final of the 13th edition of the competition will be played on April 16 at 6:30pm at Al Gharafa Hall.
Historically, the Qatar Basketball Cup has been marked by tight competition among clubs. Al Gharafa and Al Arabi are the most successful teams with four titles each, while Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah and Al Sadd have lifted the trophy once apiece.
